SYNOPSIS
Mandy is a modern woman in a crisis. Raising a son in the midst of a female revolution, mining the pain of her parents separation and professionally writing about a love that no longer exists, she falls upon a troubled man, Pete, who’s searching for a sense of worth, belonging and ‘restored’ male identity.
Produced by Western Edge Pictures, Rare Beasts is a pitch black comedy and Billie Piper’s Directorial Debut.
Premiered in competition at Venice Critics’ Week (2019), London Film Festival (2019) and SXSW (2020). It was longlisted for 2 BIFAS and BAFTA Outstanding Debut Film and was released theatrically to critical acclaim in May 2021.
