Singer Studios Receives an Epic MegaGrant
Singer Studios is thrilled to be the recipient of an Epic MegaGrant. We’re a multi-award-winning, female-led, independent studio.
We build story-driven VR games that combine cinematic narratives and immersive gameplay to bring to light forgotten stories from history.
The Epic MegaGrant has helped bring to life our debut adventure narrative VR game, ‘The Pirate Queen’, starring Lucy Liu.
The game is a story-driven narrative with puzzle elements set on a 19th century pirate ship in the South China Sea. In developing the game, we’ve used Epic’s MegaGrant support as a way of bridging the gap between our expertise in film and games.
The MegaGrant enabled the team to do in-depth exploration of Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) features to best support the creation of large scale, interactive and highly realistic environments for mobile VR. It also supported the development of the immersive soundscape to reinforce the fully interactive experience of The Pirate Queen.
We look forward to sharing our learnings through Dev Diaries on various platforms to contribute to the incredible wealth of information in the UE5 dev Community.
We’re thrilled to have brought an otherwise little-known character from history to life through our game, and look forward to leveraging the MegaGrant to support its development.
